Hello! I am Meredith Gray and I am a senior at Randolph-Macon. I am a double major in Sociology/Anthropology and Gender, Sex & Women's Studies. I studied abroad at Wroxton College in Wroxton, UK for my Fall 2024 semester.

My favorite memory of my time abroad was walking Abbey Road as I am a huge Beatles fan! Overall, though, my favorite memories were made going to each of the capitals in the UK and getting to understand the vast cultures around the country.

To any student wanting to go abroad, just know that not many people can say they lived in another country for 15 weeks! It's such a privilege and I'm so lucky I had the chance to do it while I'm young. Also, cherish your time abroad as it goes by so quickly!

Photo Descriptions

  1. Standing on the steps of Wroxton College with the campus cat, Pip.

  2. View of Big Ben from Trafalgar Square in London.

  3. Northampton Saints vs the Harlequins match, two local rugby teams.

  4. View of Wroxton Abbey at dusk from the end of the drive. Can’t believe I called this abbey home for four months!

  5. Covered market in Cardiff, the capital of Wales decorated with the Welsh flag.

  6. Me standing in front of Cardiff Castle which is a nearly 2,000 year old Norman castle that started as a Roman fort.

  7. Edinburgh Castle which sits atop a hill in the capital of Scotland. Hogwarts was based off off this castle.

  8. Victoria Street in Edinburgh which was used as inspiration for Diagon Alley in Harry Potter.

  9. Dining at our Wroxton medieval banquet. We had a three-course meal where we ate like medieval peasants to royalty all while being serenaded by a live medieval band!
